Muhammad Khalid Jamali

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Russian Federation  

Born on August 11, 1967 in Aliabad, Pakistan. Holds degree of M.Sc (Defence & Strategic Studies).

  • Joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1995.
  • Served at the Headquarters as Section Officer (1997-2000), Deputy Director (2002), Director (2010-2013) and Director General (2016-2018).
  • Held diplomatic assignments in Pakistan Missions abroad: New Delhi (2001-2002 and 2003-2007), Ankara (2007-2010) and Brussels (2013-2016).
  • Served as Joint Secretary with Prime Minister’s Office from August 2018 to September 2019.

Courses attended:

  • Strategic Management & Development in Diplomacy Training: a capacity building programme from 16-23 March 2012 at Clingendael Academy, Netherlands Institute of International Relations;
  • Export Control visiting fellows programme from May 29 – August 2, 2012. The James Martin Centre for Non-Proliferation Studies (Monetary Institute of International Studies – MIIS);
  • Course on US Foreign Policy from July 7 – 21, 2018 at the Elliot School of International Affairs, The George Washington University, Washington DC.
