Condolence Book

Pakistan Embassy opens a Condolence Book on the sad demise of Honourable President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain. 

Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, born on 23 December 1940, was a Pakistani businessman and politician. He was the 12th President of Pakistan and in office since 2013.

In 1940, his family migrated to settle in Karachi in 1947.  He graduated from the University of Karachi with a commerce degree and MBA from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi.

He was an entrepreneur  a textile company based out of Karachi and later joined the Pakistan Muslim League in 1970, working as a party worker. In 1997, he earned a high public profile as a business leader when he was elected as President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

He served as Governor of Sindh in June 1999.

Mr. Mamnoon Hussain was elected as 12th President on 9 September 2013. He served as President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan with utmost zeal and took keen interest in the country's socio-economic and health programs and paid special attention to Polio eradication program in Pakistan. 

He was diagnosed with cancer in February 2020 and breathed his last on 14 July 2021. He leaves behind a wife and three sons.
